Athenians are being reintroduced to everyday cuisine from the 50s and 60s at the most cosmopolitan venue in the city.
The Panas Group, which has been setting the standards for Athenian hospitality and catering for 30 years has, in cooperation with the leading gastronomy company Deipnosofistirion created the much anticipated ILIOS at Spyromiliou Arcade in City Link.
Here you can enjoy familiar flavours that remind you of something from the past, and dishes with a real connection to Greece and traditional cuisine. All these dishes bear the signature of the Executive Chef Dimitris Skarmoutsos who is a pioneer in promoting local products and Greek recipes. Warmth, everyday simplicity and fine ingredients chosen mainly from small Greek producers come together to forge the identity of this “tasty” new destination. Both Athenians and visitors to the city will have the opportunity to taste recipes from times gone by made with a contemporary twist.
Stuffed vine leaves from Kassos, pasto cold meat from Sparta, aged Graviera cheese from Ios and steak from Chania are just some of the special flavours you can find on the menu. ILIOS has a special character which is complemented by the mature plants in the outdoor area and the black and white photographs of modern Athens on the walls. With its air of a different era, and elements from today, ILIOS is inspired by the sunflower (ilianthos in Greek). It welcomes visitors to its brand new space from early in the morning until evening every day. Athens is returning to the intimacy of its traditions, and the new season opens with ILIOS which is here to fill our days with sunflowers, flavours and light at the most beautiful spot in the city.
Greek cuisine, just the way we would like to eat at home.
